Over the next few weeks I shall include several repotting techniques for varying outdoor species.
Aimed more toward the beginner rather than the seasoned enthusiast, I felt that with a blog/website we can all be at times guilty of assumption and never get round to answering many diverse burning questions about Bonsai that beginners certainly have but are often afraid or embarrassed to ask.
I have commenced with a Hawthorn that I have just repotted. This will be followed up with some monster repots on very heavy trees over coming weeks.
I’m hoping that there will be something for every level of beginner, and as always questions will be responded to as quickly & accurately as possible.
May I ask though when emailing me, please DO include a picture if it a specific problem or question on shape etc, it helps me make my answer all the more accurate. I have had many questions lately, but sadly many come with no picture, which makes it almost impossible to respond to when a styling or disease question arrives.
Repotting for the beginner can be a stressful and concerning time. There really is nothing to be worried about, and I hope the articles I am going to include here will be of value.
Within the first article I have included ‘other’ information focusing on tools, soil, additives, storage etc. Therefore the Hawthorn repot will be a fairly lengthy one.
Above and beyond everything though …. ENJOY the experience and do become one with your tree.
